The bleed were primarily formed by singer songwriter's
stanlee & billy (guitars & vox) and material was
written over a six month period and road tested around
Australia acoustically through a number of avenues
including indie events, radio, TV and venues.The bleed
also released online and has been accepted by a
growing USA collective through the web. The guys
hooked up with session and bleed brother Fab (drums n
beats) enabling the EP release, touring and live shows
to evolve in time for the bleeds first independent
album. The debut release of the bleeds EP forty20 has
been received underground extremely well and has found
its way into a number of cult independent record bars,
radio stations and file download avenues globally.
"The Bleed" has been creating a buzz around Aus with
their debut EP release aptly named Forty 20. The Bleed
are an alternative to major label acts in Australia
and have grown from hard fought beginnings in Sydney's
south west . The bleed are self released on
independent label Hitstate Records. The name "The
Bleed" signifies the music and their EP title was
derived from a code that describes a play used to
steal ground. Members of The Bleed members have played
on bills with some great Australian artists. Magic
Dirt, Skulker & Mantissa to name a few. They have
grown from the support of street collectives both
locally , interstate and overseas. A common
determination to create music & exist independently is
why The Bleed exist.
The Bleed have received much advice and much respect
from established independents Australia wide. The
bleed has been funded by the members of the band,
independents lending their services time and a fanbase
of street level support. The Bleed will pay them back
with a voice...
With the bleed establishing a strong following the
final member line up has been cemented for the release
of the debut album Mêlée. The bleed will tour
nationally around Aus and are planning on touring the
states in 2006. Stanlee and Billy have brought on
board highly regarded musicians Dylan (drums) and
Shell (bass ) from Sydney's Macarthur region and the
bleed are now in the studio laying down tracks for
what is looming to be a great sounding ,homegrown, raw
and honest release on the hitstate label and through
Blue Pie for digital distribution to the world.
