MISS MICHE
Miche Braden is a singer, actor, musician,
songwriter, arranger, & musical director. She is a
product of the rich musical heritage of her hometown
Detroit, Michigan, & has worked with many great
musical legends including Milt Hinton, Lionel Hampton,
The Brubeck Brothers, Regina Carter, James Carter &
her hometown mentors Jazz master Harold McKinney &
Motown Musicians Earl Van Dyke & Thomas ìBeansî
Bowles.
Combining her talents of acting, musical direction
& arranging, Ms. Miche has portrayed some of the
greatest singing Divas of our time. Billie Holiday in
7 productions of Lanie Robertsonís LADY DAY AT EMERSON
S BAR & GRILL (3 productions were directed by Joe
Brancato), Valaida Snow in the world premiere of
Lawrence Holder's HOT SNOW, Ma Rainey in August
Wilson's MA RAINEYS BLACK BOTTOMî, & now Bessie Smith
in Angelo Parraís ìTHE DEVILíS MUSICî which has just
completed two critically acclaimed runs for The
Melting Pot Theater in Manhattan & Florida Stage in
Manalapan, Florida. The world premiere debuted at The
Penguin Theater in Stony Point, N.Y., January 2000.
All three productions were directed by Joe Brancato.
Ms. Miche frequently tours Japan with female jazz
saxophonist MASA doing a series of concerts & gospel
workshops, & is a featured writer this year for the
Human Rights Coalition of Osaka, Japan's newsletter,
NINGEN (Human).
Her CD DIVA OUT OF BOUNDS (produced by Michael Raye)
was released February 2001 by PMP Records as a
follow-up to her mini-CD I AM She is also
Vice-president & Musical Director of the company.
Miss Michie started to work with KULT Records Via
Beppe Savoni of Dynamix who has hired the diva to cuts
a few demos, which turned into hits such as Bodyfly, a
favorite of the not so long gone Twilo and a staple of
the new comer Earth with dj Junior Vasquez who has
done his own interpretation remix.
