Popular and talented 'electro-acoustic
singer-songwriter' Claire Batchelor releases her
endearing debut EP "WISH" 16 February 2009.
This five-track EP is the result of over 10 month's
hard work by this 25 year old musician, who recorded
it all in her home studio in Chesham
(Buckinghamshire).
Claire Batchelor first picked up the guitar at the
tender age of seven, and later on was influenced by
her parent's musical tastes: listening to everything
from The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix to
Classical music.
Since graduating with first class BA Honours in Music
Performance and Composition in 2007, Claire conducted
her piece 'Bloom' for Worthing Philharmonic Chamber
Orchestra, composed two songs for independent film
'Black Ink' (which was screened in Leicester Square),
and scored short film 'Oranges & Lemons' by director
Simon Spender.
The EP has been described as "A unique collection of
acoustic-driven songs, woven with exciting textures,
soulful vocals and pure emotion."
Claire explains: "I wanted to create something
different, and try to take the listener somewhere when
they hear my music.
'WISH' is available from all major retail and digital
stores, from Jam Central Records, and Claire's own
website: ClaireBatchelor.co.uk from 16 February 2009.
