SEAMUS HAJI BIG BANG THEORY
Seamus began his DJ career in the mid 80's;
playing a mixture of early House, Soul, Funk
and Hip-Hop at various parties, warehouses and clubs
around London. He became resident at The
Satellite club in 1994 and whilst there began
to get regular bookings for clubs throughout the UK
and Europe. His residencies now include The
Defected nights at Ministry of Sound,
Babooshka at Code, Bed (Sheffield) and he holds the
summer residency for the Defected nights at
Pacha, Ibiza - as well as ongoing dates worldwide.
On the A&R front, after working ten years at
numerous record shops Seamus acquired the
position of A&R/Label Manager for Slip 'N' Slide
Records (where he signed Sybil's "When I Fall In
Love.") In'99 he defected to Defected to
become A&R manager, signing his first top 20
single Eddie Amador's Rise… and many hits since.
Journalism wise, Seamus has been writing the
Garage column for Muzik magazine for thelast
4 years and also guest reviews for Italian dance
magazine Discoid.Radio is another passion; he
previously held a 2-hour mix show on Italy's Station
One and has performed guest mixes on Radio 1,
Kiss, Galaxy and stations worldwide. He now
holds his own show on MoS Radio, 87.7FM on Tuesdays
9-10pm throughout their October 2001 license.
Seamus has been producing and remixing for
the last 6 years under the guises Sonz of Soul and Big
Bang Theory (BBT). This year, for Defected,
he has re-mixed J Majik's Love Is Not A Game,
has an EP under his BBT guise - God's Child (with
remixes from X-press 2 and John 'Julius' Knight,)
due for release in 2002. And has recently
completed a vocal project, which you'll soon hear
about but we're not telling yet… He
previously mixed Defected's Independence,
Ritmo Latino, the Defcom 2 compilations and In
addition will be increasing his DJing for
Defected on an International level as the face of the
label. His star is definitely in ascendant.
